Struggling to grow grass in shady areas? Made for Shade is a shade-tolerant lawn seed blend designed for areas where other grass varieties struggle. Combining fine fescue grasses, including Chewings Fescue and Creeping Red Fescue, it creates a lush, fine-textured lawn with good colour and coverage in low-light conditions.
Uses
- Establishing new lawns in shady areas with limited direct sunlight
- Growing lawns under trees, alongside fences and on shaded sides of buildings
- Repairing bare or patchy areas in existing shaded lawns
- Suitable for areas that receive a combination of shade and sun throughout the day
Benefits
- Fine fescue blend specially selected for shade tolerance
- Produces a lush lawn with fine, soft-textured grass
- Helps maintain good colour and coverage in low-light areas
- Also tolerates areas receiving some direct sunlight
How to Use
-
Preparation: Remove weeds, leaves and debris. Rake the soil to create a fine, level seedbed.
-
Sowing: Refer to the product packaging for recommended sowing times, sowing rates and application instructions.
-
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist until the lawn is established. Areas beneath trees may require extra watering due to competition from tree roots.
-
Ongoing Care: Avoid mowing too short. Water and fertilise as needed to encourage healthy growth. Where possible, thin overhanging branches to allow more light through.
