Loose Bulk or Bulk Packs? Choosing the Best Way to Buy for Your Project
· 2 min readShare
Most of our soils, mixes and mulches can be bought two ways: loose bulk, loaded into your trailer or truck by the half cubic metre, or bulk packs, sold by the cubic metre as a set of easy-to-carry bags. Both use the same Daltons products; the difference is how they get to your job.
Loose bulk
Loaded straight into your trailer or vehicle at the yard.
- Best value for large volumes.
- Flexible quantities in ½ m³ lots.
- Full range, including stone, sand, metal and Builders Mix.
- Best for: filling raised beds, mulching large areas, new lawns and hard landscaping, where the trailer can get close to the job.
The trade-off is the mess and the shovelling, and you need a trailer or truck.
Bulk packs
Our bulk packs are sold by the cubic metre (1 m³ = 20 packs; 2 m³ = 40 packs) and loaded into your vehicle for pick-up. Bags aren't sold individually.
- Clean and tidy: no loose pile on the driveway and no shovelling.
- Easy to load: fit straight into a car boot, ute or van.
- Easy to move around site: carry packs to backyards, rooftop gardens and areas you can't get a barrow to.
- Store well: compact and easy to keep until you need them.
- Recyclable bags, with the same 100% weed-free, renewable products backed by the Daltons Quality Assurance Programme.
Bulk packs aren't available at our Ruakaka or Silverdale yards.
