Landscaper Pro All Round Fertiliser

Landscaper Pro Fertilisers: Which One and When

· 2 min read

The Landscaper Pro range from ICL is what many professional landscapers use to keep lawns and gardens looking their best. All four are controlled-release, so nutrients feed out steadily over months rather than in one quick hit. That means fewer applications, less risk of burning and less nutrient washed away. Here's how to choose.

The range at a glance

Product Analysis (N-P-K) Lasts Use it for
New Grass & Renovations 20-8.7-6.6 + S Up to 3 months Sowing new lawns, overseeding, laying turf
Maintenance Lawn 20-0-5.8 + Ca, Mg 2–3 months Fast green-up for established lawns
All Round 24-2.2-6.6 + Mg 4–5 months Long-term feeding of lawns and gardens; after moss or weed treatment
Flora 5/6 Months 15-3.9-10 + Mg 5–6 months Garden beds, borders, trees, hedges, pots and natives

All four come in 15kg bags.

New Grass & Renovations

Higher in phosphorus to drive root growth, this is the one to use when you're sowing a new lawn, overseeding thin areas or laying instant turf. Its Poly-S coating releases nutrients gradually, so it won't burn tender young grass. Spread it on the prepared Daltons Lawn Soil at sowing time.

Maintenance Lawn

When you want an established lawn to green up quickly, this is it. Its high nitrogen gives a fast visible response, with controlled release keeping the lawn fed for 2–3 months. Added calcium and magnesium support strong, deep-green leaves. Apply it 3–4 times a year through the growing season.

All Round

The "in-between" option: a longer-lasting 4–5 month feed that suits lawns and general garden use. Its magnesium helps lawns hold a rich green colour, and it's a good choice to follow moss or weed treatments as the lawn fills back in. It also supports young seedling and new turf establishment.

Flora 5/6 Months

Made with ICL's Osmocote technology, Flora is designed for plants rather than lawns: beds, borders, shrubs, trees, hedges and containers. One application feeds for a full season. It's low in phosphorus, so it suits most natives, and the higher potassium supports flowering.

Rate: 40–80g/m² (a 15kg bag covers about 375m² at 40g/m²). Mix it into the soil at planting, or scatter it over the surface and water in to start the release.

A simple feeding plan

For lawns

  • Early spring: Maintenance Lawn for a fast green-up as growth starts.
  • Late spring: All Round to carry the lawn into summer.
  • Autumn: Maintenance Lawn or All Round to help the lawn recover from summer.
  • New lawns and repairs (spring or autumn): New Grass & Renovations.

For gardens

  • Spring: Flora around shrubs, roses, hedges, fruit trees and borders.
  • Late summer: a second Flora application for plants that keep growing into autumn.

Getting it on evenly

Even spreading is the key to a lawn without stripes and patches. A Handypro Compact Rotary Spreader makes it quick and easy; see How to Use and Calibrate a Rotary Spreader. Always water fertiliser in after applying.

Quick answers

Which fertiliser for a patchy lawn? Repair the patches with Lawn Soil and seed, using New Grass & Renovations. Feed the rest of the lawn with Maintenance or All Round.

Can I use lawn fertiliser on my garden? Use Flora for gardens. Lawn fertilisers are high in nitrogen for leafy growth, which isn't ideal for flowering plants.

Do I need to water it in? Yes. Watering in starts the release and prevents granules sitting on leaves.
